A Break from The Usual — Recipe For New Orleans Barbecued Shrimp

In a break from the interviews and writing articles. I’ll occasionally post a favorite recipe. Many of them will have Cajun or New Orleans influences, like the following.
New Orleans Barbecued Shrimp
Ingredients ______________________________________________________________________________

  • 2 pounds shrimp Deheaded, but unpeeled–large size preferred
  • 1⁄4 pound butter
  • 1⁄4 pound margarine (we use vegetable oil or butter)
  • 11⁄2 TBS Worcestershire sauce
  • 1⁄4 TSP rosemary leaves (crushed)
  • Juice of 1 fresh  lemon
  • 1⁄4 TSP Tabasco sauce
  • 1 TSP salt
  • 1 clove garlic (or more, to taste) ______________________________________________________________________________
  • Preheat oven to 400°
  • Melt butter and margarine in a large black skillet over medium heat.
  • add in all other ingredients except shrimp and stir briefly to combine
  • add in shrimp, then place in oven for 10 to 15 minutes
  • serve with French bread for sopping.
  • We also serve over rice
  • SLURP!
